AbInitio works with the client-server model. It is a fourth generation data analysis, data manipulation, batch processing graphical user interface (GUI)-based parallel processing product which is commonly used to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data.
AbInitio software was designed to support a complete range of business applications, from simple to the most complex. The client is called “Graphical Development Environment” (you can call it GDE). It resides on user desktop. The server or back end process is called Co-Operating System”. The Co-Operating System can reside on a mainframe or UNIX remote machine.
After completing this Ab Initio Training, the candidates would be able to:
Fundamentals of Database: Knowledge of basic database concepts like tables, views, indexes, normalization etc. Understanding of SQL (Structured Query Language) is also important as it's frequently used in data extraction and manipulation tasks.
Basic Programming Skills: Knowledge of basic programming concepts like variables, loops, functions, etc. Although Ab-Initio uses graphical development environment, understanding programming logic can be helpful.
Data Warehousing Concepts: A fundamental understanding of data warehousing concepts such as ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, facts, dimensions, OLAP, etc.
Operating Systems: Basic understanding of Unix/Linux as Ab-Initio is often run on Unix/Linux servers.
